Sustainability (B-stream Conferences)
The decision of the Indonesians shows without doubt the very positive attitude of this country towards sustainable production, as is the participation of other producing countries like Malaysia or Argentina, for example.
The three main goals of the Sustainability debate at the European Bio Fuel Summit are to:
- Analyse in depth the today’s situation with the participation of involved NGO’s like WWF, Proforest or BOS (Save the Orang-Utans) and the producing and supply chain industries.
- Present and discus some of the possible verification and audit instruments which can help to create a more sustainable production and supply chain management and
- Create awareness amongst all stakeholder groups about the need of worldwide standards for sustainable production of vegetable oils.
Availability (A-stream conferences)
Furthermore, the Summit will address in the A-Stream Conferences the world wide availability of feedstock for the European biodiesel industry in the context of European and Spanish legislation, with key speakers from the European Commission and from the Spanish Ministry of Industry and the Tax Bureau. Leading technology providers and producers like Axxens (France), Geka Konus (Germany) and Acciona (Spain) will overlook the latest technological developments and The European Public Transport Association (UITP) and the leading Spanish companies UTM (Madrid) and xxx (Barcelona) will report on biodiesel experiences in public transport so far. The UITP will also forward a Position Paper.
